100 Gifts Poem Project - for Kids & Families

100 Gifts Poem Project - for Kids & Families

Give a gift to yourself or someone you love with Scott County Library's 100 Gifts Poem Project! Local poet Molly VanAvery will create poems for 100 kids, teens, & adults in Scott County - sign up to be one of the lucky recipients!

How it works: register a child ages 3-18 below. We'll email you an online form to fill out with your child with questions to choose from like "What makes you feel happy?",  "What do you love the most about your family?", or "What is your favorite animal and what do you like about it?". Then the library will forward the answers and your child's age and first name to Molly, she will create a poem especially for your child, type it out on her vintage typewriter, and mail it back to the library. We'll mail the finished poem to you after scanning it so we can share the finished poems. (Note: limited to families in the Scott County Library service area.)

Molly will create poems for Adults too! Sign up no later than the following dates:

At the end of summer, we'll share a Poem Launch video of Molly reading some of the poems (with permission, of course).

Who is Molly VanAvery? We were so excited to have Molly and her Poetry Mobile at our library this summer, but when we had to cancel, we worked with her to create this amazing at-home alternative!
