Toddler/Preschool Early Literacy Class at Prior Lake Library
Children and their parents/caregivers are welcome to join us for our FREE and FUN story- and play-based early literacy classes that use the five important early literacy practices of "Talking, Singing, Reading, Writing & Playing".
Best for ages 18 months and older. Siblings are welcome at the toddler and preschool classes.
Our class themes:
- 9/8: Hi. Hello. Let's Have Fun!
- 9/15: Airplanes, Apples and Animals
- 9/22: Bubbles and Balls
- 9/29: Cold and Hot
- 10/6: Dinosaur Dig
- 10/13: Elephants and Other Giant Creatures
- 10/20: Fast, Slow, and In-Between
- 10/27: Grandma's Glasses
- 11/3: Feelings - Happy & Sad
- 11/10: Ice, Ice Baby
- 11/17: Jellyfish Houses
- 11/24: Kites Fly High in the Sky
- 12/1: Library Loonies
- 12/8: Mailbox Surprise
- 12/15: New Shoes, Red Shoes
Looking for classes for other ages? We also have Baby Lap Sit classes on Thursdays at 10:30 am.
Storytimes led by library staff trained in the Every Child Ready to Read curriculum are “early literacy classes" - all the fun and learning of storytime, but with tips and guidance on easy ways to help your child develop pre-reading skills.
