NEW! Eye Spy Family Early Literacy Class at Shakopee Library
New! Children and their parents/caregivers are welcome to join us for our FREE and FUN class that is part-scavenger hunt and part-traditional early literacy class featuring interactive songs and stories; story- and play-based early literacy classes use the five important pre-readings practices of "Talk, Sing, Read, Write, and Play." Best for ages 3-6 though younger and older sibling are welcome!
Our upcoming themes are:
- September 18: Eye Spy - Animals!
- October 16: Eye-Spy - Friends!/¡Amigos!
- November 20: Eye Spy - Art!
- December 18: Eye Spy - Play!
Storytimes led by library staff trained in the Every Child Ready to Read curriculum are “early literacy classes" - all the fun and learning of storytime, but with tips and guidance on easy ways to help your child develop pre-reading skills.
