What are Tech Packs?
Job hunting can be tough, but Scott County is here to help. Residents who have experienced economic impacts due to COVID-19 may apply to check out laptops from their library for up to 90 days to apply for jobs and more.
Who can check out a Tech Pack?
Tech Packs are limited to Scott County residents over the age of 18, who experienced one of the following due to COVID-19:
- Job loss, furlough, or lay off
- Reduction in work hours
- Difficulty seeking employment in industry impacted by COVID-19
- Delays in hiring processes
Note: We will ask you about this for grant-related data collection purposes only. You are not expected to provide proof of income or any evidence to be eligible for a Tech Pack. Your personal information will not be shared with anyone.
What can I do with a Tech Pack?
- Connect to the hotspot to browse the internet and apply for jobs online
- Use the laptop's camera to complete video interviews and more
- Create files in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and more
- Access job hunting resources from Scott County Employment & Training
What's in the Tech Pack?
Each Tech Pack includes:
- Windows Laptop & Charger
- Wireless Internet Hotspot & Charger
- Free Resources Folder - you may keep after returning the Pack
How do I apply for a Tech Pack checkout?
- Select a future pickup date below, and follow the prompt to Check Out.
- Fill out the application. Make sure to read Terms & Conditions carefully.
- Library staff will review your application. You will receive an email or phone confirmation regarding the status of your Tech Pack application.
- You will pick it up at the library you chose when you submitted your application.
